Internet Safety: As we utilize several online learning tools, it is a great time to remind students about internet safety and to regularly check internet history, etc. The internet is a powerful tool but even without trying (pop ups...) students can see websites they should not. A pastor recently recommended Covenant Eyes as a filter software for home use.
School Work: Pick-up and drop-off time for your child’s schoolwork continues Mondays and Fridays from 7:45-8:45 am. If these two options don’t work for you please call Heather at 509-714-2430 to make other arrangements.
School Lunches: If you are in need of lunches for your child(ren), we have a limited number of food boxes available for pick up on Friday from 7:30-8 am. Please email Heather at hschlaich@stcharlesspokane.com to reserve a box before Friday. All children ages 0 to 18 can also have access to meal sites throughout Spokane Public Schools. Spring Break: Next week, April 6-10, is Spring Break. There will be NO online school next week. Also, April 13th is Easter Monday. There are no classes that day either. School work pick-up and drop-off will also be suspended next week. Please enjoy spending time with your children and not worrying about school!!
End of 3rd Quarter: The 3rd quarter ends on Friday. Report cards will be mailed home after Spring Break.
Grading Update For 4th Quarter: Because of our online learning we are slightly modifying the grading system for the 4th quarter. Grades 4th through 8th will receive traditional letter grades. Kindergarten through 3rd grade will receive modified standards-based grades with anecdotal notes. All transcripts will have an official letter attached explaining the state of emergency and need for modified grades as needed. We are providing continuous learning and our intent is to continue grading.

A Note to the Students from Miss Sheila: Hello to all “my” kids! As you know, one of my favorite jobs is being your school mom. I miss taking care of your scrapes and bumps when you get hurt. I miss helping you pull out that loose tooth! I miss giving you candy for sore throats! I miss drying your tears when you have a bad day and giving you a high-five when you get an “A” on your test! But most of all I just miss seeing your faces and visiting with you. I can’t wait for the day when we can be together again!! And now I have a secret, but you can’t tell the teachers or Mrs. Schlaich: When school starts again I will set up a Golden Easter Egg Hunt! I will give out the first clue right after prayer on the morning we return!!! It will be a fun way to ease back into school and a pretty good joke to play on the teachers!!! Until then, stay healthy and happy. Be helpful to your parents and keep up with your schoolwork. Pray for those who are sick. And remember that I am praying for all of you!!!
