Letter From the Principal

Dear Families,

We are working on communication and how to better serve the St. Michael Community.  Thank you for your feedback on this.  Several parents have shared their ideas and we are working to implement them.  Picture day is Wednesday for classes and individual pictures.  This is a free dress day.  Friday is another Spirit Day.  Grandparent's Day is Friday, September 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Thank you to our wonderful PTO for organizing a reception for the grandparents in the cafeteria.

Yesterday, I attended the New Members Meeting after 11:00 mass.  It was wonderful meeting all of the new families and sharing with them the many great things going on in our school.

We are hosting the Archdiocesan Science Standards Awareness session this week at St. Michael.  The Archdiocese is adopting new science standards and we are pleased to host this.

I want to express my appreciation to all in the St. Michael Community for your love, support, and kindness.  I am blessed to be here.

“Hold your children before the Lord in fervent prayer throughout their years at home. There is no other source of confidence and wisdom in parenting. The God who made your children will hear your petitions. He has promised to do so."
-Dr. J. Dobson, Parenting Isn’t for Cowards.

Ask, and you will be given what you ask for.  -Matthew 7:7

Many Blessings,

Mrs. Stacy Tackett

Thanks to Student Service Council for planning a great pep rally for fall academic and sports teams!
Homecoming Week is a Huge Success

Homecoming Week 2015 was a huge success!  The week began with a Moms vs. Moms football game on Monday.  On Friday, the Student Service Council organized a pep rally to recognize all fall sports and academic teams.  Teams recognized included quick recall, flag football, soccer, volleyball, tackle football, cheerleading, and cross country.  Special thanks to the University of Louisville cheerleaders for leading our students in Knights cheers.  Congratulations to the 5th grade, who won the spirit stick for cheering the loudest.  On Saturday, teams celebrated with a bonfire on the St. Michael field.
Congratulations to our 4th grade football teams who won their games yesterday.  4A won 20-0 and 4B won 19-6.  The 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade teams put forth good effort but didn’t come away with a win this time.  Good luck to all our teams for the remainder of the season.  Thank you to all who supported Homecoming Week activities.  Hopefully it will become a lasting tradition.
