Letter From the Principal
Dear Families,
This week Mrs. Krill, Mr. Mattingly, Mrs. Wood and I are at a technology conference called KYSTE.  Attending this helps us learn the latest and greatest ideas to integrate technology in our classrooms and school and making certain the technology we use actively enhances and engages each students learning experience.
I will be recognizing all A's Principal's List and all A's and B's Honor Roll Friday on the announcements.  We want our students to understand that their hard work and dedication to academics has paid off and that we are extremely proud of their achievements.
Thank you for all of your love, care and support of this sensational school.  I feel blessed to be here.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James1:17
Many Blessings,
Stacy Tackett

Terra Nova Testing Reminders
Last Friday, students attended an assembly to get students excited about doing their best on the test.  Special thanks to Ms. Cox and Mrs. Barr for organizing the assembly as well as the teachers who participated in the "what not to do" skit.  Students in grades 3-7 will be taking the Terra Nova tests this week and next week.  Students in grades 3, 5, and 7 will also complete the InView assessment.

Here are some tips for parents to help your child do his/her best on the test.

 1. Make sure your child gets an ample, normal amount of sleep the night before the test.
2. The student should eat a nutritious and filling breakfast. Avoid high sugar cereals which can make the student hyper and/or unfocused.
4. Make sure the student is on time (if not early) on the day of testing.
5. Set a backup alarm to avoid the possibility of oversleeping.
6. Keep a positive attitude about testing in general around your child and emphasize their ability to demonstrate what they have learned rather than the consequences of not passing.

The Terra Nova is a national, standardized test that all schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville take each year.  The school uses the scores to analyze individual and group achievement in all core content areas.

Tuition Assistance Information

cef

The Catholic Education Foundation, the Archdiocese of Louisville, and our funding partners are growing to meet the needs of families who cannot afford the full cost of educating their children in a Catholic elementary school. Here's some further information about the program

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? All families with one or more children enrolled in or applying to a Catholic elementary school in the Archdiocese of Louisville are eligible to apply.

HOW DO I APPLY? A single form, the Private School Aid Service (PSAS) Application, will be used for all forms of Catholic elementary school tuition assistance. Beginning January 1, 2016, this application will be available at the following sources:

  • Online Application – Online Application- Families can submit their application and upload their documents by CLICKING HERE
  • PDF Application – Or download the interactive PDF document: ENGLISH or Español

Completed forms and a fee of $25 must be submitted to PSAS between January 1, 2016 and March 15, 2016.

DO I APPLY EVERY YEAR? Yes, you must apply for tuition assistance for each school year.

WHEN WILL I KNOW IF I HAVE BEEN GRANTED TUITION ASSISTANCE? Tuition assistance award letters will be mailed families by June 15, 2016.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Complete only one PSAS application for your family, including all students in the family (elementary and high school) on the same form. PSAS will send a need evaluation to all funding sources for which each family could qualify as well as the high schools you have listed on the form.

WHAT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS? Please call the Catholic Education Foundation at (502) 585-2747or visit us online. We would be happy to assist you!
