Letter From the Principal
Dear Families,
This past Sunday, Palm Sunday, I began thinking about how the celebration of Easter is right around the corner and what a wonderful opportunity we have to enter fully into the Easter celebrations as a whole community this year, especially since Spring Break will not begin until the afternoon of April 1st.
Therefore, Fr. Dick and all of the teachers and staff at St. Michael School ask each family to participate fully in the principal celebrations of Holy Week, namely, Mass of the Lord's Supper on Thursday evening, the Celebration of Lord's Passion on Friday evening, and of course, Mass on Easter Sunday.
Our third graders will present Stations of the Cross on Good Friday at 9:30 a.m., but we so wish for our students to experience the evening services.  They are powerful and highly symbolic. Even if your younger children cannot understand everything about the services, we believe they will be intrigued by the rituals themselves. While we see these services as spiritually enriching for each member of your family, experiencing these services will help your children to understand both the intellectual and emotional aspects of Christian faith.
March 24 – Holy Thursday Mass, 7 PM

March 25 – Good Friday Stations, 3 PM;  Good Friday Service, 7 PM

Good Friday Stations will be led by Deacon Marty Brown.

March 26Saturday – Easter Vigil Mass, 8 PM

March 27Easter Sunday, Masses: 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
We understand that we have families in our school who are not Catholic but belong to other churches. We encourage you also, to participate in the services your congregation my offer on these same days. While Christians do not all agree on everything, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the shared reality drawing us together each day.
It is wonderful how our community has come together to love and support each other this week.  Thank you to all of you for your thoughts and prayers.  Many blessings for a wonderful Holy Week and Easter Sunday,
Fr. Dick Sullivan and the Teachers and Staff of St. Michael School

Emergency Notification System Changes to School Messenger- Opt In for SMS

St. Michael School has recently changed from School Reach to School Messenger for our emergency notification system.  School Messenger recently acquired School Reach so over the last month we have been completing trainings to move to the new system.  School Messenger still integrates with Sycamore, and the system syncs daily each evening so all contact information is automatically transferred.  It also has a more user-friendly interface so we hope it will be a more reliable system for our school.

Notifications will still be available by voice call, text message, and email.  Please note: Voice call is only used by the school for emergencies.  Parents will need to opt in to continue receiving text messages.  You will receive a text message from School Messenger Tuesday, March 29 at noon.  All parents must reply Y or Yes to the message received to continue receiving messages.  This message will only be sent once so please be sure to reply.
