Letter From the Principal
Dear Families,
As you read this letter, I am in Chicago enjoying every last minute I have with our 8th graders.  They will graduate from St. Michael School on May 12th.  Without exception, when I am at work, I am the happiest when I am spending time with this group of students. I am not saying I don't love all the other students, but I have spent many hours with this group with the hope that they will never forget their experience at St. Michael School.  My reasoning for this is simple; I want these kids to know that we care about them and their future and will do anything we can to help them become successful adults of great character and integrity.  I want them to come back each week to attend mass and know the doors are open if they want to visit, need advice, or want to serve in any way.  When they think of St. Michael School, I want them to remember that they were loved and cared for while they were becoming the person God wanted them to be.  Please keep us in your prayers as we navigate through Chicago.
Have a wonderful week,
Stacy Tackett

Counselor's Corner: A Message from Ms. Cox
Attention Parents of 6th/7th/8th Graders!

On Tuesday, May 3rd, Captain Mike Halbleib, Director of the Bullitt County Drug Task Force will speak to students in Grades 6-8.  Captain Halbleib will speak to each grade level, separately, in order to present age appropriate material and devote adequate time to questions.  As usual, we are so grateful for the time Mike selflessly dedicates to our students.  Students will have had three consecutive years of Captain Halbleib’s education on drugs, upon graduating from Saint Michael.  Sadly, we live in a world where our children are faced with added dangerous temptations, each day.  It is our hope that in collaboration with experts such as Captain Halbleib, our students will understand the dangers of drugs and be empowered in the face of peer pressure.  Please feel free to contact me if you should have any questions or concerns.

Thank you so much to our PTO Staff Appreciation Committee, who has spoiled us with goodies this week.  From breakfast to lunch and raffle baskets to daily treats, you really know how to make us feel special.  Even the school is decorated with this year's theme: "We could travel around the world and not find a better staff than ours."  Special thanks to Michelle Sileo for organizing this week's activities.

♦  Thanks to Mrs. Whelan for organizing a fabulous art show last week!  Every student had amazing art on display.   Our students are very talented.
